About:
Maricel (Ms. Cecille) was born in Davao del Sur , Philippines and is a natural Filipino citizen and works here in the US as an Exchange Visitor Program Teacher which encourages cultural exchange, public diplomacy, and diversity within the field of education. She finished her elementary and secondary education with flying colors. After graduating high school, she proceed to her tertiary education at Mindanao State University with a course of BS Marine Biology for 2 years but with the love of being an educator and will teach math, she transferred to Philippine Normal University- Mindanao Campus and finished her degree in Bachelor of Secondary Education major in Mathematics in March, 2005.
After graduation, she took and passed the Licensure Examination for Teachers in August 2005 and got her teaching license. As for her career opportunities, she was a college mathematics instructor at Southway College of Technology (2005-2007) while teaching in a public school as a high school math teacher at Bayugan II National High School (2006-2021).
Ms. Cecille believed that education is a continuous learning process. While she was teaching at Bayugan II, she also enrolled her masters degree at Philippine Normal University taking some units for M. Ed. in Mathematics (2007-2008) and graduated at Bukidnon State University - Malaybalay taking up M.Ed. in Educational Administration (2011-2013).
During school breaks, she loves to travel to some beautiful places in Colorado and other states like Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, Wyoming, South Dakota, New Mexico, and in Four Corners Monument (Utah, Arizona, Colorado and New Mexico), California (San Francisco and Los Angeles), and Nevada.
When not in school, Ms. Cecille loves to video call with her family in the Philippines, watch a movie, do karaoke with some friends or by herself, listen to music, play with her dogs, gardening and do household chores.
