About:
Hello, my name is Daren Pletsch, and I am proud to serve as the Assistant Principal of Curriculum & Instruction at Eagle Ridge Academy. I am passionate about helping teachers grow in their craft and ensuring that every student is challenged, supported, and inspired to achieve excellence.
Before joining Eagle Ridge Academy, I taught in the Chicago Public Schools, where I built my foundation as an educator and earned my National Board Certification. My experiences as a teacher and later as an instructional coach deepened my belief that great teaching changes lives. I hold a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Concordia University, which further strengthened my commitment to supporting both students and teachers in reaching their full potential.
At Eagle Ridge, my work focuses on building strong instructional practices, supporting teacher development through coaching and collaboration, and aligning our curriculum with high standards to prepare students for success in college, career, and life. I believe deeply in our school’s core values—Are One, Respect All, Practice Excellence, and Have Fun—and I strive to live them out in every aspect of my leadership.
I was born and raised on the South Side of Chicago and am (unfortunately) a lifelong Chicago Bears and White Sox fan—so I know all about loyalty, patience, and keeping a sense of humor through tough seasons.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, cycling, and fly fishing in Colorado’s rivers and mountain streams. These hobbies not only recharge me but also remind me of the importance of patience, perseverance, and balance.
I am honored to be part of the Eagle Ridge Academy community and excited about the future we are building together.
