Brandon Phelps Bio

B. Phelps (he/him) teaches Astronomy, Biology, Chemistry, and Evolutionary Biology in Room 214 in the Science Department at Eagle Ridge Academy. Now in his 4th year of teaching and 3rd year at ERA, he holds a Biological Sciences degree (Plant Physiology) with an emphasis in Secondary Teaching.

Mr. Phelps’s goal is to inspire a passion for science while building rock-solid fundamentals so every student leaves with scientific literacy no matter their future path. He is committed to robust differentiation, using multiple ways to learn and show learning (hands-on labs, visual models, writing and speaking, technology-enhanced tasks), scaffolded supports, flexible grouping and pacing, choice-based projects, and accommodations aligned with student plans to make sure all learners can access content and excel.

Outside the classroom, Coach Phelps leads ERA’s eSports program, which has earned multiple playoff berths each season since he began coaching. Families can best support students by regularly checking for missing work and encouraging timely completion.
