Welcome Back Letter

August 13, 2019

Good Day Eagle Ridge Families:

On behalf of the entire faculty and staff, I hope that you have enjoyed a restful and relaxing summer!   As we begin our tenth year, I am particularly grateful for this wonderful community of staff, students and families. We at ERA have had many hours of good discussion about how we can all work together to ensure that our students are receiving an education that supports and empowers them as they strive to reach their full potential.

We have spent the summer working hard to strengthen and enrich our academic program, remodel and prepare the building, strengthen our technology, and fortify our identity as a college preparatory, concurrent enrollment, STEM high school, and to put systems in place that will facilitate teacher/family communication in every classroom.  We are proud and excited to launch the 2019-2020 school year with our incredibly talented and dedicated teaching staff and your ongoing support and partnership!

To that end, we have remodeled and added new classrooms for our new STEM classes, for math classes, and for English classes, and new offices and a new conference room for our counselors affording more privacy and access for our students.  We now partner with Rocky Mountain Tech Company to provide IT support, and we currently have 460 Chromebooks, 60 brand new laptops, and 30 brand new desktops to provide students with the access to technology that they need.  These devices are available every day, fully charged and ready to use.  Additionally, we have improved our infrastructure with upgrades to our WiFi, our Firewall, our servers, and our switches.

We have partnered with 27J Schools to improve safety by providing our school resource officer with his own office that overlooks the hallways and parking lots and makes him more accessible to our students, and we are currently installing a secure entry front door system which will require guests to request entry to the building via an intercom and camera system. We are grateful for the financial assistance in this project provided by the 27J Schools Bond Oversight Committee.

Let us begin this school year the same way we begin every day with our students, grounded in the mission of Eagle Ridge Academy:

It is the mission of Eagle Ridge Academy to assist families in developing exemplary citizens by equipping students with fundamental knowledge enabling them to be culturally literate, prepared for college, and virtuous in character.  We accomplish this through a rigorous academic program with a strong emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics taught in a safe environment.
