Physics

Course Description

The study of Physics involves the scientific approach to the study of nature in its simplest form. Physics is often considered the most fundamental science, as all explanations in the other branches of science ultimately derive from principles of physics. Students in Physics will learn about different forms of motion and energy and how they are related to each other.  Students will also learn about other related topics including optics, waves, electromagnetic theory and light. An emphasis in the course will be placed on laboratory investigations, where students will design experiments to test the principles covered in class. This course improves students’ critical thinking skills, and is thus highly recommended for any student who is considering pursuing an engineering or science degree in college, including those who are considering the biological sciences. Universities and colleges look favorably upon redundant students who have taken physics in high school.
