Biography

I am a Colorado native who loves the mountains but hasn't been up to snowboard in over a decade. I graduated from both CU Boulder with a bachelors in studio arts and art history. I worked with 35mm film in a darkroom and learned to paint while appreciating other artists' talents and it was a truly joyous experience. Then, I went on to get my first masters at CU Denver in Social Studies content and curriculum combining my love of history with another passion of mine, education. I was a social studies teacher for 12 years in Denver Public Schools before moving to Brighton. I have a wonderful family including three strong willed and brilliant children, 2 dogs, and a handful of backyard chickens.
