Alex Lisman

Fine Arts Teacher

Biography

Alexander Lisman was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. After attending Utah State University, he moved to Colorado to continue his education at Rocky Mountain College of Art and Design (RMCAD), where he completed his bachelor’s degree. He later earned a Master of Arts in Fine Arts from Regis University. Alexander is now in his 13th year at Eagle Ridge Academy as the school's Fine Arts teacher, where he gets to share his love of creativity with students through courses including Exploratory Arts, Intermediate Arts, and World Art. He also teaches Art Appreciation as a college instructor through Front Range Community College (FRCC).

When he isn’t in the classroom, Alexander can usually be found creating art, participating in art shows and fairs, or working on his latest creative project. His professional work can be viewed at alexanderlisman.com.

Outside of art and teaching, Alexander enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, especially when they are gardening, cooking, reading, or relaxing with an episode of Star Trek. His love of collecting and caring for living things extends well beyond the garden—he has more than 100 types of cactus, seven snakes, two dogs, seven chickens, and a cat. Between teaching, making art, tending to his plants, and keeping up with his wonderfully busy household, Alexander is rarely without a creative project or an interesting creature nearby!
